Frequently asked questions

Recordings are uploaded, transcribed, and analysed. The transcript and the structured note are kept; the original audio is automatically deleted after a short retention window. The transcript is treated as the record of your thought.

Structured notes are filed into destinations you choose and control — a GitHub repo, Google Drive, or a local or iCloud folder — as plain text, Markdown, or JSON. Thoughts also live in the app so you can review and manage them.

Two kinds: speech-to-text transcription, and a large language model that analyses the transcript into a title, summary, tasks, questions, and decisions, and routes it to the right project. Your exact words are always kept verbatim alongside the analysis.

Only through Bridge-it, and only if you set it up. Bridge-it uses a self-hosted runner — open source at launch — that you install and enable per project. Without it, ThoughtBridge only ever writes notes to the destinations you configure.

ThoughtBridge is free during the beta, with fair-use limits on captures. Paid plans will come later, and beta users will hear about them first.

Yes. Captures queue on the device — phone, watch, or Mac — and upload automatically when you’re back on a network. You can keep capturing on a flight or a trail run; nothing is lost.

Yes. Thoughts are captured, transcribed, and kept in the app even if you never connect a destination. You can add a GitHub repo, Drive, or folder later — or not at all.

Yes. One destination can host many projects, each in its own folder. A single repo or Drive folder can be the home for everything you think about.
