Terms of service

The service

ThoughtBridge records spoken thoughts on iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, Mac, and the web app at app.thoughtbridge.io, transcribes them, analyses them with an AI model, and writes structured Markdown into destinations you connect: a GitHub repository through a GitHub App installation, or, in private beta, a Google Drive folder or a YouTube upload. It also provides an API and an optional feature called Bridge-it, described below.

The service is operated by [OPERATOR_NAME] (ABN [ABN]), a sole operator based in [STATE], Australia. "We", "us", and "ThoughtBridge" mean that operator. How we handle your personal information is covered by the privacy policy, which forms part of these terms.

Accounts

• You must be at least 16 years old to use the service.
• One account is for one person. Do not share an account or let someone else use yours.
• Keep your sign-in credentials safe. Anything done through your account is treated as done by you, so tell us promptly if you think someone else has access.
• API keys you create are your responsibility. Treat them like passwords, store them securely, and revoke any key you no longer need or think may have leaked. Captures made with your keys count toward your usage.
• Give us accurate details, and keep your email address current so we can reach you.

Acceptable use

Use the service lawfully and considerately. In particular, you must not:

• Capture, upload, or file content you have no right to record or share, or content that is unlawful, defamatory, or infringes someone else's rights.
• Abuse rate limits or the fair-use limit, for example by scripting captures to exhaust capacity or by running many accounts to get around a limit.
• Attempt to access another user's account, thoughts, projects, or destinations, or to probe, scan, or interfere with the security of the service.
• Reverse engineer the service, except where the law says we cannot stop you.
• Use the service to harm, harass, or deceive others.

Your content and the licence you give us

Your captures, transcripts, notes, images, and projects are yours. You keep every right you have in them.

So that the service can work, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide licence to store, transmit, transcribe, analyse, display, and write your content, including sending audio and transcripts to our AI provider for processing and writing files to the destinations you connect. The licence exists only to operate, secure, and support the service for you. It ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies in backups, which are removed within the backup window described in the privacy policy.

We do not use your content to train AI models, we do not sell it, and we do not show it to anyone except the providers listed in the privacy policy, or when the law requires.

You are responsible for the content you capture, including making sure you have the right to record anyone else's voice or words.

Destinations and third-party services

GitHub, Google Drive, YouTube, and your sign-in providers are your own accounts with those companies, under their terms. When you connect a destination you authorise us to write where you tell us to, and nowhere else. We are not responsible for those services, for their availability, or for what happens to files once they are in your repository, folder, or channel. Files written to a destination are yours to keep, edit, or delete.

You can disconnect a destination at any time in Settings, or by revoking access from the provider's side. Disconnecting stops future writes and does not remove what is already there.

Bridge-it and AI-generated changes

Bridge-it is optional. It works with a program you install and run on your own machine (the runner), which uses an AI coding agent under your own control to make changes in your own repository and open a pull request. ThoughtBridge does not run code on your behalf on its servers; it only passes the request to your runner and shows you the run's status.

You are responsible for the repositories the runner can reach, for the agent and credentials it uses, and for reviewing every AI-generated change before you merge it. We make no warranty about the correctness, safety, or fitness of AI-generated code or of the runner software, which is provided as-is.

AI output

Transcripts, summaries, task lists, and project routing are produced by AI models and can be inaccurate, incomplete, or wrong. Treat them as suggestions. Your recorded words are kept alongside the analysis so you can check it. Do not rely on AI output for anything where an error would cause harm without checking it first.

Free beta and fair use

The service is free during the beta, within a fair-use limit, currently 30 captures a month. Every capture counts, however it arrives. We may adjust the limit to keep the service healthy and will tell you when we do. There are no paid plans yet. If we introduce them, we will update these terms and give you notice by email before anything changes for you; nothing will be charged without your agreement.

Availability and changes to the service

The service is in beta. It may be interrupted, changed, or rebuilt, and features may be added or removed. We will be careful with your data, but you should not treat the beta as the only copy of anything important. Destinations exist partly so that your thoughts live in places you control.

Ending things

You can stop using the service at any time and delete your account from Settings. Deletion removes your account and content from our systems as described in the privacy policy.

We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, abuses the service, or puts other users or the service at risk. Where we reasonably can, we will tell you why and give you a chance to export your data first.

Liability

Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts, or modifies any guarantee, right, or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law or any other law that cannot be excluded. If a guarantee applies and can lawfully be limited, our liability is limited to supplying the service again or paying the cost of having it supplied again.

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost data, lost profits, or loss arising from third-party services, from AI-generated content, or from changes made by the runner in your repository. To the extent permitted by law, the service is provided as-is during the beta, without warranties beyond those the law implies.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of [STATE], Australia, and you and we agree to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts there. If you use the service from elsewhere, you are responsible for complying with local law.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the service evolves. The date at the top tells you when they last changed. For material changes we will email account holders before the change takes effect. If you keep using the service after that, the updated terms apply.
