Get started on iPhone and Apple Watch
Install the beta from TestFlight, capture your first thought, and pair your watch so it can capture from your wrist.
ThoughtBridge is in beta, distributed through TestFlight. This guide takes you from a waitlist invite to capturing thoughts from your wrist.
Before you start
- An iPhone running a recent iOS, and optionally an Apple Watch.
- A TestFlight invite. If you don’t have one yet, join the waitlist on the home page — invites go out in batches as places open up.
Install on iPhone
- Open your invite email and tap the TestFlight link.
- Install TestFlight from the App Store if you don’t have it, then accept the invite and install ThoughtBridge.
- Open the app and sign in. Your account is the anchor for everything — thoughts, projects, and destinations all live under it.
Capture your first thought
- Tap the capture orb in the centre of the tab bar.
- Say what’s on your mind. Don’t structure it — just talk. A trailing “um, also…” is exactly the kind of thing ThoughtBridge is for.
- Tap to stop. The capture uploads, gets transcribed, and comes back as a structured note: title, summary, and any tasks, questions, or decisions it found.
If ThoughtBridge is confident about which project the thought belongs to, it files it there. If not, the thought waits in the review inbox at the top of the Thoughts tab — nothing is filed behind your back.
Captured offline? The thought queues on the device and uploads automatically when you’re back on a network. You’ll see its status honestly reflected in the app the whole way.
Pair your Apple Watch
The watch app captures on its own — one tap, no phone in reach — and inherits your account from the phone. There is no on-watch login.
- Install the ThoughtBridge watch app from TestFlight (it appears on the watch after you accept the invite, or via the Watch app on your phone).
- On your phone, open settings in ThoughtBridge and choose watch pairing. A 6-digit code appears.
- On the watch, open ThoughtBridge and enter the code. The watch links to your account and stays linked.
From then on, one tap on the watch (or its complication) starts a capture. Thoughts recorded on a walk or a run queue on the watch and upload when they can — status is shown honestly, and nothing is lost if you’re out of range.
A note on the beta
Captures are free during the beta within fair-use limits. If you hit the monthly limit, the app tells you plainly rather than failing quietly.
Next step: connect a GitHub destination so your filed thoughts land where your AI tools can read them.
